About The Company

Altadena Pie Lady, LLC is a Southern California home-based cottage bakery (CFO), and was Established in 2016, to provide top quality home-baked pies, cakes, bread, and pastries, using seasonal local ingredients, to Altadena and surrounding communities.

During the pandemic of 2020 the need became great, to supply a piece of happiness during a tumultuous time. The happiness is continuing even now, as we slowly see a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel.

About Alyson Cook

Alyson Cook’s early culinary education at the Cordon Bleu Cookery School in London, and her work as a private chef across Europe, including a time with Her Majesty Elizabeth, the Queen Mother prepared her for crossing the Atlantic to serve American “Royalty”, and her celebrity clientele.

After working for the best in the business, Alyson has owned and operated multiple catering companies in the Los Angeles area: Sheila Mack Gourmet Cooking Inc, Alyson Cook Gourmet Foods, and Green Apple Gourmet Inc.

Clients included, Carole Burnett, James Garner, Celine Dion, Dr, Phil, Nancy Reagan, Ringo Starr, Arianna Huffington, Bill Maher, Chateau Marmont, Ford Models, The Rand Corporation, McKinsey, and Disney among others

In addition to running successful businesses Alyson was a Chef Instructor at the Cordon Bleu School, Los Angeles for a decade, and The Art Institutes for eight years. Alyson continues to enjoy teaching, currently offering virtual classes on cooking and baking. She is looking forward to being able to teach in-person classes again very soon!

Chef Cook is a triple-certified Chef by the prestigious American Culinary Federation (ACF) Certified Executive Chef (CEC), Certified Executive Pastry Chef (CEPC), and Certified Culinary Educator (CCE). Chef Cook is one of very few chefs in the USA with all three certifications.

Chef Cook also holds certificates as a Chinese Culinary Arts Master. As a guest of the Chinese Hotel Association she performed in two annual food shows and was part of an exclusive contingent from the USA.

Alyson lives in Altadena with her partner in life, and has a 25 year old son. Her passions include food, gardening, and travel! Recent travels have included trips to India, Russia, China, Spain, Vietnam, the Baltic, and Peru.

She is currently working on her culinary memoir with her mother and son, and planning her next travel!
